Of mind chatter and body connection

I meditate every day for an hour and its changing the way i think of being present. The biggest take away for me after a vipassana training module is the mind chatter. I didn’t realise till then the wanderings of the mind. I did hear from my friends, the importance of being present and I am a lot in the moment person, after attending two vipassana sessions, I don’t think I was such an in the moment person.

What realising mind chatter does, the importance of focus. And how much can get done without much of an effort if we learn to stay focussed. While doing a conversation, making an eye contact or contributing to a meeting, small distraction makes me feel blanked. And whenever I recognise not being present, I feel guilty for not giving that undivided attention.

I have been told the importance of multi tasking, what I understand now, there is nothing called multi tasking, its just shift tasking — I defocus alternately. After the invasion of personal walls of information like cell phones and pads, its become common to shift task.

While talking to a friend, who is great at coding, explained the importance of completing a task and how it takes a lot of time and energy if one multitasks in a coding environment. I guess it’s no different in an everyday environment.
